What is Christian Aid?

Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.

They work globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality.

They are part of a wider movement for social justice. They provide urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes.

Christian Aid Week

Christian Aid Week is the single biggest act of Christian witness in Britain and Ireland. For thousands of people throughout the country, Christian Aid Week is a way of getting out into their local communities, answering Jesus’s call to help people in need, and showing the community just how much good the church is doing in the world.

As a Church we undertake house-to-house collections throughout Peasedown St John. This can be a challenging job, but it an important part of our outreach into the village and provides vital funds for Christian Aid.
